The most common faults and the cost of their parts are a very small fraction of the cost of a new appliance (3-15%), so it’s definitely worth the repair. In practice, the answer is that old, reliable, high-quality household appliances made in Western Europe will never replace today’s appliances, which are short-lived and designed more for consumer culture. And you’re saving the environment by repairing.
